Lt. General Twitty is the founder of Twitty and Associates LLC, a consulting and advisory firm that specializes in strategic and operational planning to improve management skills, lead positive culture change, enhance business operations, and drive organizational productivity and efficiencies to achieve success in the government, corporate, academic, and non-profit sectors.

 

Lt. General Twitty serves as Chairman of the Board at Nusura, Inc. He serves as Board Advisor at Dataminr, Sarcos Robotics, Hypergiant, Valiant Integrated Services, and HDTGlobal. Lt. General Twitty serves as a Senior Advisor at the Chertoff Group and Ernst and Young (EY). He is as National Security and Military Analyst commentator at MSNBC Cable News Network.

Lt. General retired from the United States Army with over 36 years of distinguished military service as an infantry officer in the United States Army. He commanded units in nearly every echelon and served in five combat tours to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait. Lt. General Twitty also served in the Pentagon on the Joint Staff and Army Staff, United States European Command, United States Northern Command, United States Army Central Command, United States Army Forces Command, International Security Assistance Force-Afghanistan, and Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe. In his final assignment in the military, Lt. General Twitty served as the Deputy Commander of United States European Command in Stuttgart, Germany.

 

Lt. General Twitty has received numerous awards, notably the Silver Star Medal, our nation’s 3rd highest award for valor, for his gallantry in combat in Iraq. He is enshrined by South Carolina State University as a Distinguished Alumnus. South Carolina Highway 11 which runs through his hometown of Chesnee, SC and the American Legion building in his hometown are named in his honor.

 

Lt. General Twitty holds a Bachelor’s degree from South Carolina State University, a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Central Michigan University, and a Master’s degree in National Security Strategy from the National Defense University. Lt. General Twitty has continued further studies at the Center for Creative Leadership, Executive Leadership program in Greensboro, North Carolina and the University of North Carolina, Kenan Flagler Business School, Executive Leadership program in Chapel Hill North Carolina. He is a Distinguished Fellow at the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA). Lt. General Twitty is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

 

Lt. General Twitty is from Chesnee, South Carolina. He is married to the former Karen Wilson. They have two daughters, Ashley and Brooke
